78 Derngate Northampton is the only house in England designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh having been remodelled by him in 1916. It was his final commission and it is the only place in the world where his architectural and interior styles can be seen in their original setting. Our visit includes an introductory video, guided tours of the house and the chance to explore the new enlarged visitor centre.
Northampton Museum and Art Gallery is home to one of the largest collections of shoes and shoe heritage in the world. Their new permanent Shoe Gallery celebrates the wonderful world of shoes as it takes the visitor through the history of shoe fashions from 5300BC to the present day.
