  • Length of course: 1 term. Autumn (10 Weeks)
  • Number of places: 15
  • Start date: 12 October 2022
  • Description:

The modern world is built on commodities – from the oil that fuels our cars to the metals that power our smartphones. We don't often stop to consider where they come from and how they get to where they are needed. We should. Commodity traders play an important role in the process and wield considerable power. This course will consider how they have grown in importance and still play a vital role behind the scenes. We will also look at some of the resource challenges ahead as we face the need to make use of more renewable resources at the same time as our economies become more reliant on digital technology. No previous knowledge of economics required.
