This class is based on Latin to GCSE Book 2 by Henry Cullen and John Taylor, supplemented by the Cambridge Latin Course Book IV, and also making use of online media. We shall work towards a good GCSE or O Level standard, with a view to further study. Participants will probably have had about three or four years of Latin or equivalent. There will be listening and reading, pronunciation and speaking, explicit grammar work, translation practice, a few looks at 'authentic' Latin over the centuries, and perhaps more! 1-2 hours prep/research between classes expected. Optional print resources: a reference grammar such as James Morwood's Latin Grammar or Kennedy's Revised Latin Primer, and a good dictionary, such as Cassell's Latin-English English-Latin Dictionary.
