Read, speak and learn Spanish (SPA 03(z))

  • Day and time: Wednesday 11:30 - 13:00
    Weekly
  • Length of course: 3 terms. Autumn (10 Weeks), Spring (10 Weeks), Summer (9 Weeks)
  • Vacancies: 2
  • Start date: 07 October 2026
  • Description:

A Spanish course via Zoom for anyone with an intermediate knowledge (GCSE/beginning A level). It will be suitable for most of those who have attended my courses in previous years. We will read a short novel as well as practising speaking. The choice of novel is as yet undecided (Possibilities: Soldados de Salamina (Cercas); Como agua para chocolate (Esquivel); El disputado voto del señor Cayo (Delibes). Last year we read Relato de un náufrago by Gabriel García Márquez. Participants will need to prepare the text outside the class and I hope to have occasional meetings at my home (CB23) or in an agreed local venue so students can meet each other in person. It will be helpful if students have access to a printer in order to print their own copies of occasional grammar resources.
