European writing (LIT 20)

  • Day and time: 2nd Tuesday of the month 10:30 - 11:45
  • Length of course: 3 terms. Autumn (3 Weeks), Spring (3 Weeks), Summer (3 Weeks)
  • Vacancies: 0
  • Start date: 13 October 2026
  • Description:

This is a discussion group. We will read recent writing from or about Europe concentrating mostly but not necessarily exclusively on novels and often continue our conversations over coffee. As we hope to learn about some unfamiliar times and places, this can be challenging but aims always to be enjoyable. We will discuss what sort of writings, and from what parts of Europe, will prompt and satisfy our interests. Bring your ideas. Our first book will be 'An Armenian Sketchbook' by Vasily Grossman https://www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/products/armenian-sketchbook-book-vasily-grossman-9781782060888?pid=9786603110673
