In this brief two-week course, we will read, think and talk about TS Eliot's 'Burnt Norton', the first of the 'Four Quartets'. The course will be, I believe, enjoyable in itself, but it will also be a kind of experiment, to see if the larger poem, the 'Four Quartets' is amenable to discussion and group-based analysis and appreciation.

Several years ago, I decided to engage intensely with the Western canon of poetry. 'Four Quartets' is a beautiful mountain to climb within that canon.
