  • Start date: 07 October 2026
  • Description:

The main focus of the course (some 10 sessions or so) will explore the origins and development of US Rhythm and Blues music from the 1940s to the 1960s: African-American music played by African-American musicians and singers for a primarily African-American audience. Interspersed will be sessions focussing on Jazz in Film, Jazz Noir, British Beat before The Beatles, US Rock n Roll, US & UK Instrumentals and other similar nostalgia-themed sessions. Most of the music will be sourced from my own collection of CDs and some from original 78s. This course follows on from 'Jazz, Blues and everything in between'.
