East Anglian Towns (LEI 28)

  • Day and time: Don't Mind, 10:00 - 17:00
    Fortnightly
  • Length of course: 3 terms. Autumn (5 Weeks), Spring (4 Weeks), Summer (9 Weeks)
  • Vacancies: 0
  • Start date: 05 October 2026
  • Description:

The aim of the group is to participate in interesting visits to East Anglian towns learning about their history, architecture, industry and other points of interest. We will have an initial meeting at Bridge Street on Monday 28 September at 11 am, to plan the year, then will have a visit once or twice each month on a day to be agreed. Transport will normally be by rail if possible, although members who wish to travel by car may do so and meet us at the venue. Our first stop will be toilets and coffee followed by a guided tour of the town. Members who have specialist local interest may wish to lead the tour. Otherwise a local guide will be arranged. Tours will be undertaken at a leisurely pace. If a guide is hired members will be asked to pay a proportionate cost. Possible towns are Ely, Kings Lynn, Newmarket, Bury St. Edmunds and Saffron Walden.
