Description:
We shall explore the religious thought of the great French mystic and philosopher, Simone Weil. You will need a copy of her 'Waiting on God', which is a collection of essays and letters on religious themes. Simone Weil's thoughts, which are profound, are expressed in very accessible language in these essays. She draws her inspiration from Plato almost as much as from Christ and the gospels, and reveals the harmony between the two traditions of philosophy and theology, which have traditionally been seen as quite different.

I fell in love with the writings of Simone Weil as a post-grad and have continued to find her thoughts extraordinarily inspiring.
