The course celebrates the life and work of W.S. Gilbert: his collaboration with Arthur Sullivan on such works as The Mikado and HMS Pinafore, but also his plays and satirical verse. We will hear many excerpts from the Savoy Operas but also explore, through readings, his once famed work as a playwright.
Format: Seminar

I am a lifelong devotee of G&S but keen to share an interest in Gilbert's other work as playwright, journalist and creator of light verse.
