This is a group run by and for its members, coming up for its third year. Each week one member presents to the group on a topic of their choice in any area of modern history: we have ranged in topic from haemophilia and European history, to Edward Colston, to British and French imperialism; in time from the 17th to the 21st centuries; in place across four continents. Talks last up to about 45 minutes followed by discussion; some have used powerpoint, some more informal discussion. No qualifications required and no compulsion to present, though we need enough volunteers to make it work. New members most welcome. I aim to contact the group during the autumn to agree the programme.
