We shall focus on Mark's account of the passion, generally held to be the earliest we have. (Contemporary scholars take as a serious likelihood the second and third century patristic tradition that Mark's source was Peter.) We shall read through the King James text and I shall provide a running analysis (making particular use of R. T. France's commentary) and facilitate some group discussion. If you know Greek, your translations of key terms will be helpful. (This was due to have been the third of a three-term course but was cancelled due to the pandemic; it is open to newcomers.)
