Ballet Beginners (FIT 05)

  • Day and time: Wednesday 12:00 - 12:50
  • Length of course: 3 terms. Autumn (10 Weeks), Spring (10 Weeks), Summer (10 Weeks)
  • Number of places: 18
  • Start date: 07 October 2020
  • Description:

The Course will be taught by Karen Stringer ANATD, MNATD, FNATD - Director of The Russian Ballet School in Cambridge. Karen specialises in teaching adults and believes strongly that everyone should have the chance to dance and learn a new skill. The course is open to beginners or those with some experience. The level will be tailored to the group but all classes will follow the same structure and include exercises at the barre to warm up the body. Centre work will include exercises and combinations of steps, followed by a group dance. Dances may include national, historical or folk dances. The aim is to increase fitness, strength, balance and poise. Comfortable clothes should be worn e.g. leggings, T-shirts and ballet shoes, or leotards and ballet skirts. Note: There is an additional fee of £27.30 to pay for the tutor for the Autumn term, plus an additional fee of £45.00 to pay for the tutor for the Spring and Summer terms, payable on application.

Note: Under the Government's Tier 2 rules, it seems unlikely that this course can run. If this changes, or the rules are amended and we can start then we will contact members.

We know this is frustrating for everyone but will endeavour to get this up and running as soon as possible.
