  • Start date: 12 April 2021
  • Description:

During the past 25 years board gaming has experienced a renaissance, with a huge number of easy-to-learn, intriguing and challenging games being produced. These are much more interesting than the "roll a dice and move" type of game (e.g. Monopoly) which most of us remember from our childhood. We will play a different game each week, each session consisting of a short familiarisation period followed by everyone participating in the game. The games are NOT knowledge-based (no Trivial Pursuit) but consist of varying degrees of thought, planning, luck and player interaction. Only two qualifications are needed: the willingness to play at a reasonable pace (i.e. not spending ten minutes procrastinating over a move) and, above all, not being overly concerned about who wins. Our aim will be to enjoy a thought-provoking, relaxed and sociable couple of hours.
