Climate Change and Sustainability - what should/can I do? (ENV 01)

  • Day and time: Wednesday 14:15 - 16:15
    Fortnightly
  • Length of course: 2 terms. Autumn (5 Weeks), Spring (5 Weeks)
  • Number of places: 10
  • Start date: 07 October 2020
  • Description:

We shall consider climate change and use the excellent Carbon Conversations materials by Rosemary Randall and Andy Brown to analyse one's personal impacts (carbon footprint) on our world, as well as the wider social and political issues. Difficult issues are tackled using several methods including games, case studies and discussion. Class members consider what they want to do realistically which could be eating much less meat and dairy or taking less air flights. Elizabeth has run it many times for Cambridge Carbon Footprint/U3AC and this year Andy Clarke joins her in running the class. (Materials may be downloaded or books cost £15 to be paid by cash or cheque at the first session.)
