Table tennis is good exercise and beneficial for hand-eye co-ordination, but the main objective is simply to have fun. The group encompasses a wide range of ability. Don't worry if you haven't played for many years as you'll soon pick it up again. Although the Sports Centre have a limited number of bats available, most members bring their own. Balls will be provided, but you will be asked for a small donation of £1.00 per person (payable to the course organiser) in January to cover the cost of these for the year. The charge is £2.50 per session. We play every Tuesday morning except the odd date when the sports centre needs the room for other activities.
Note: Under the Government's Tier 2 rules, it seems unlikely that this course can run, at least not in its current format. It may be possible to resume with some careful planning, possibly on the basis of playing singles, to minimise any mixing. We will be liaising with the course organiser and the venue and will contact members if and when we can start.
We know this is frustrating for everyone but will endeavour to get this up and running as soon as possible.
