A trip to visit the International Bomber Command Centre, Lincoln and Lincoln Cathedral has been organised.

The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) is a world-class facility to serve as a point for recognition, remembrance and reconciliation for Bomber Command. Providing the most comprehensive record of the Command in the world, the IBCC ensures that generations to come can learn of their vital role in protecting the freedom we enjoy today. There are three interactive and immersive exhibition galleries and we will have a guided tour of the Lincolnshire and International Peace Gardens and the Memorial Spire and Walls of Names.

On arrival at the Centre we will have a cup of coffee/tea and biscuits (included in the price).

You may choose to have lunch in the cafe after the tour.

We will depart at 2.00pm to visit Lincoln Cathedral. An hour-long tour of this magnificent Cathedral has been organised. The Victorian writer John Ruskin declared; “I have always held… that the Cathedral of Lincoln is out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles and roughly speaking worth any two other Cathedrals we have”.

We shall leave Lincoln at 4.30pm and will be back in Cambridge by approximately 6.30pm.

If you have mobility issues please contact one of the organisers.

Closing date for applications is Friday 13 October
