We will all have seen lichens but we may not have paid them any attention or even noticed them. David will introduce you to what extraordinary organisms lichens are and outline their fascinating lives and the fantastic range of places where they can be found. He will explain their special biological significance and what they can tell us about our environment.
David Hill studied botany at Sheffield University, did his PhD on lichens at Oxford University and continued with research on lichens at Bristol University. He has been President of the British Lichen Society and is now recording lichens in his local area.
