    Weekly
  • Length of course: 2 terms. Autumn (6 Weeks), Spring (9 Weeks)

  • Start date: 08 November 2022
  • Description:

This Writer's workshop is an opportunity to learn about the nuts and bolts of fiction writing (novel, short story, autobiography). Whether you are gathering material for a story, have already started writing or are stuck somewhere mid-story, one of the best things about participating in this group is, quite simply, being around people who like to talk about and practise creative writing. The course will focus on discussion and presentation of narrative techniques including topics such as Beginnings and Endings, Story and Plot, Character, Voice, Point of View and Dialogue. There will be short weekly writing exercises followed by discussion and feedback. Please note November start date due to daughter's wedding abroad.

  • Format: Seminar/Discussion/Some taught course elements

  • Tutor: Reinhard Tenberg
  • I am a published author of several academic and text books (BBC) and have written three novels and a poetry anthology. I hold a PhD in English Literature and Linguistics.
