What do you feel when you look at a photograph, what’s your emotional response? Are you exhilarated, or upset or indifferent? What do you see when you look at a photograph? What is it of? Is this the same as what it’s about? Is it a ‘good’ picture? Is it neutral or is it intended to influence you? What knowledge, preconceptions and experiences do you bring to it? In a confused and confusing world flooded with images, these are not trivial questions. This short course, combining presentations and discussion, aims to help you find some of the answers.
