  • Description:

Picturing Ovid: a stroll through Ovid's Metamorphoses, linking his stories with the art they have engendered. This poem tells of changes in ancient myth and history and has been the inspiration for artists to interpret its stories in all sorts of ways. We shall explore his words and these works. This course will explore five topics from the Metamorphoses and their interpretations by various artists. The main question will be 'What do YOU think about it?' The artists among you may like to produce your own interpretations! The course will be in Tutor's home with facilities for zoom hybrid: participants can choose which they prefer for any session.
