Modern European theatre part 2 (LIT 15)

  • Description:

    Although this course is a continuation from the previous year, it stands alone and participation in part 1 is not necessary. We have looked at Ibsen, Chekhov and Brecht (among others). This term we will explore: Artaud and the Theatre of Cruelty; Ionesco and the Theatre of the Absurd; the life and plays of Lorca; Beckett and 'Waiting For Godot'; Pinter's 'The Homecoming'; the evolution of Physical Theatre and the work of Frantic Assembly; Theatre Design. We will watch DVDs of productions and discuss them together.
