This is a class for complete beginners to enable them to acquire the language skills for communicating in everyday situations. We will use Deutsch Plus, a BBC language pack that contains a course book and 4 audio CDs (9780563519157), available from book shops and on line. Purchase of the CD edition is optional as we will use the recorded material in class. The tutor will also provide periodic handouts for additional vocabulary and grammar practice. The overall aim will be for students to gain an understanding of written and spoken German, to acquire confident pronunciation and to participate in simple conversation.
