    Weekly
  • Length of course: 1 term. Summer (6 Weeks)
  • Number of places: 25
  • Start date: 14 April 2021
  • Description:

A six-week 4x4 adventure starting in Alice Springs. See the wonderful Numbat. Take in the East and West Macdonnell ranges, the Ghost Town of Arltunga, the rocky landscapes of Kings Canyon, Uluru and the Olgas. Pass through Woomera and stop at Coober Pedy for opals (just looking!) and underground living. In the Gawler ranges the weather is against us (can't drive the dirt roads in the rain) so we find other places in the area. Onward to the Flinders ranges where we have better luck. Incredible scenery and some exquisite encounters with rare wallabies and dingoes. Euros aren't for spending here, they are a species of kangaroo. Discuss life on Australian sheep and cattle ranches. Visit Naracoorte Caves and the Little Desert National Park. We finish by touring the Grampians, then to Melbourne for the return flight. Click HERE for handouts.
