An informal and friendly knitting (and crocheting) group for members of all abilities. An opportunity to work on your own project, help and be inspired by others. An initiative published by 'Knit for Peace' offers an extensive review of previous studies into the physical and mental health benefits of knitting. The research suggests that knitting slows the onset of dementia, combats depression, increases a sense of wellbeing and usefulness in society and distracts from physical pain. It is suggested that knitting helps reduce blood pressure because of the calming therapeutic nature of the hobby. Knitting is a wonderful activity with endless possibilities for the creative imagination.
