The research suggests that knitting slows the onset of dementia, combats depression, increases a sense of wellbeing and usefulness in society and distracts from physical pain. It is suggested that knitting helps reduce blood pressure because of the calming therapeutic nature of the hobby. Knitting is a wonderful activity with endless possibilities for the creative imagination.
