Dates for your Diary

U3AC Christmas Lunch
Two U3AC Christmas Lunches are currently arranged for Thursday 16 December and Friday 17 December at the Cambridge Regional College – Kings Hedges Road Campus. Please make a note of this date in your diary, further details will be provided nearer the time.

Exchange programme

U3AC Heidelberg Exchange Visit
This year, U3AC participants will visit Heidelberg in the first week of September (1st-8th). Travel may be by Eurostar train, flight from Stansted, or you make your own arrangements. There are two main rail routes: St. Pancras-Brussels-Heidelberg at an approximate cost of £62 + €164 return, or St. Pancras-Paris-Mannheim, the cost of which is more variable depending on available special offers. Prices of £36, £42, £63 and £84 have been quoted. Paris to Mannheim is approx £60 return.
Accommodation will be arranged for us by the Heidelberg U3A (AfÄ) at the Vierjahreszeiten Hotel. The hotel charges €80 per person for B&B. It is situated on the river Neckar embankment, close to the centre of the old town. Spouses and partners are welcome and no knowledge of German is required, as most of the AfÄ participants speak excellent English.
You will be the guests of the Heidelberg AfÄ and visits to places of interest are organised, as well as a spectacular fireworks display.
Participants are expected to help entertain visitors from Heidelberg on their return visit in 2011.
