ARB 01: Arabic Intermediate
Note: There is an additional fee to pay for the tutor. This fee is £30 per week divided by the number of members in the class and is paid directly to the tutor.

LEI 06 – Chesterton Novice Bridge Group
There will no longer be an additional fee for this class as a decrease in the hire charges of the venue has occurred.

FIT 33 – Gentle Ballet Movement
With reference to FIT 04, a second Gentle Ballet Movement class is being offered. This course will be open to members who have not previously attended the ballet class and will take place at St Columba’s Church Hall, 11 – 12.00 during the Autumn term. If you wish to enrol, please request this on your application form.

Italian Intermediate Self Help Group
We are a small self-help group, meeting for one hour per week. We plan to continue in the 2010-2011 academic year on Tuesdays at 1pm. We work from a teaching textbook, and try to converse as much as possible. We could accommodate a few more participants, and we would certainly welcome a competent permanent tutor! If you can help us, or would like to discuss joining us, please call Alan Birch on 01223 279270. NB. You do not need to apply for this course on your U3AC membership form.

Coping with Hearing Loss
It has been decided not to include a class in this year’s Programme of Studies. However, there may be people with a hearing loss, or partners or carers, who would like to be helped with their loss. If so, please contact Veronica Greenwood (244338) and a class could be arranged on a day and at a time to suit those interested (which would be held in her home as before – 21 Derwent Close). Veronica will also give help and advice at other times or refer members to relevant bodies such as CAMTAD (Cambridge Campaign for Tackling Acquired Deafness).

Coping with Hearing Loss – Workshop
It is also proposed to hold a workshop at the U3AC premises on Wednesday 28 July. There will be a morning session (10-12) and an identical afternoon session (2-4) to be presented by the Director of CAMTAD and will include a talk and demonstration of equipment. At both sessions equipment can be tried out and problems with hearing aids discussed. Please ring the office by 14 July if you would like to attend.

U3AC Holiday Swimming at the Leys School - Cancelled
The Leys School are undertaking significant building work on the pool and understandably have chosen the summer holidays to commence this work. The last swimming session at the pool will be on 1 July. Members will be informed via the newsletter and bulletin when swimming will recommence.
