U3AC Courses for 2010/11
You need to be a member to take part in any course
Most courses run during term time, but some will continue throughout the year.
Venues
Courses are held at a number of venues beside the rooms at Bridge Street. Some are in members houses and others in various locations around Cambridge. Here is a list of the public venues we use.
How to Enrol for Courses
To enrol for classes, you will need to be a
member, and obtain the full Programme of Studies from The U3AC Office,
27-28 Bridge Street, Cambridge CB2 1UJ, and to complete
the application form. You may email us to request a copy to be posted to you.
How courses operate
U3AC is a voluntary self-help organisation where the tutors are themselves members. After payment of the enrolment fee of £5 and annual subscription of £55 there is no additional charge for the majority of courses and you are eligible to apply for up to 6. (Occasionally there is an additional charge to pay for an outside tutor or special equipment, this is clearly stated.)
Members may not attend courses, even those with a large number of places, if they have not been allocated a place. An allowance in the total class size has already been made for any absenteeism. This is because of Fire Regulations.
We hope that having attended and enjoyed a course you will feel able to offer a course of your own to other members of U3AC in order for the organisation to flourish.
Course updates
Details of new classes or changes to classes will be announced in the Newsletter and in the Courses News on the home page.
